Restaurants
It is the Moors we can thank for introducing rice to Valencia in the eighth century. In fact the Spanish word for rice 'arroz' derives from the Arabic word ar-ruzz. The Valencian flair for cooking has created the famous paella dish. This is typically meat based. In coastal villages it is common to cook a seafood paella, paella marinera. The paella is traditionally cooked over a wood fire using a flat shallow dish, known as a paella pan, from which the classic dish takes its name. Often it is eaten on social occasions as large paella dishes can easily accommodate a crowd.
In Alcossebre and Las Fuentes there are many restaurants serving a wide variety of different cuisine from the traditional food of Spain like Paella and Zarzuela to Chinese, German, Swiss and Italian cuisine. This is a selection of restaurants that we feel are constantly good, they are not in any order of preference just all serving excellent cuisine over the whole price range. Some of which are:

La Villa
Delicious Spanish cuisine.

La Perla Blanca
Amazing food. Beautiful setting and views of Peniscola.

Ca Batiste
Ca Batiste is situated on the sea front in Alcossebre. This is a typical Spanish restaurant and bar.

Sam and El Patio
Sam and El Patio are the places to go for pizza. Both are situated in the main town of Alcossebre and also have other Italian specialties on the menu.

Bar La Maya
Bar La Maya is a modest looking place but don't miss out as its a real find. If you like authentic tapas, you'll love this place.

Taberna Pikapote
Taberna Pikapote, hidden gem! Good size portions and very fresh authentic food!

El Pinar
El Pinar, spectacular views in the mountain top village of the same name. Excellent Spanish menu, try the fish!

Ice Cream Parlours
You can't visit Alcossebre without trying a delicious home-made ice cream from an ice cream parlour.
We recommend El Arenal for a traditional Valencian paella.
